Our Story

Old School Surgeon, New School Knowledge

A Modern Practice with a Personal Touch

As modern medicine has become more impersonal and rushed, many of us miss the days when physicians and staff took the time to provide kinder, higher quality, and more individualized care.

Dr. Dhir and his wife of 28 years, Nathalie Dhir, BSN, created Arizona Mohs Surgery & Dermatology to provide the best of both worlds: top-quality, experienced surgical & dermatologic care in a personable, attentive, cost-effective setting.

Arizona Mohs Surgery & Dermatology's team has worked together for many years, and is committed to compassionate care and the pursuit of excellence. We pride ourselves on attention to detail. Our dedicated staff looks forward to treating you with the same kindness, respect, and concern that we would extend to our own family and friends.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Dhir and Nathalie enjoy physical fitness and cooking, and spend as much time as possible with their two grown children, Joshua and Emilie, who both live in New York City. Dr. Dhir has also pursued an amateur career in automotive racing, and Nathalie has produced an award-winning feature film, Burning Kentucky.

Shelby Coplen, PA-C, Taylor Foxworthy, PA-C, and Tabitha Bayne, PA-C, joined our experienced team from 2024-26.  Shelby has practiced medical & surgical dermatology in Tucson since 2018, and Taylor has worked in both dermatology and pediatrics. Tabitha has practiced Dermatology since 2015 at Massachusetts General Hospital, Tucson, and then Oregon.  They also previously all worked together at another local practice.  They are experts in skin cancer screenings, non-Mohs treatment of skin cancer, and treatment of rashes, psoriasis, rosacea, and acne.

Our facility was constructed using the highest quality, "Made-in-the-USA" components and local Tucson talent wherever possible. Over 94% of our building materials, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment is manufactured in the United States, with some surgical instruments and our Zeiss microscope sourced from Germany, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. Other than our Apple iMacs and iPads, very few items were sourced from China and only when no other viable option was available. We would like to acknowledge the outstanding work done on our behalf by local businesses such as Eglin & Bresler Architects, Venture West Construction, Goodmans Interior Structures, National Bank of Arizona, Desert Lab Studio, AV Specialists, Stat Computer Services, Illuminations, Millwork by Design, Achilles, Aztec Flooring, Effective Signs, Hall Custom Painting, and Creative Printers. Many of these companies went the extra mile to achieve our Made-in-America goal.

Arizona Mohs Surgery & Dermatology demonstrates its commitment to community and country via support of several nonprofits, including Arizona Heroes Memorial, Los Charros Foundation (FFA and 4H), Therapeutic Riding of Tucson, the Jewish Community Center's Garden of Hope, Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Camp Valor Outdoors, Wreaths Across America, and Angel Charity.

Just a note to thank you for being so diligent in your pursuit of skin cancer. Because you caution 'on the safe side', you were able to detect my basal cell (carcinoma) very early. I also want to thank you for referring me to Dr.  Dhir. He was a dear! Thanks again for your care!

Your kindness and professionalism, as well as that of your staff, was very much appreciated. As a healthcare worker, I take pride in treating my patients like I myself would like to be treated. It is quite evident that you each do that for your patients, too. Such admirable qualities are hard to find. Thank you for the excellent care that you gave my mother. I will never forget your kindness and the kindness of everyone who also helped care for her.

You have been absolutely wonderful during this surgery. Thanks so much for your genuine concern and kindness. All of us have been so impressed with your medical expertise, as well as your sincere (and almost forgotten) love for your profession and your patients. You truly are the epitome of a great physician—one to be highly recommended, respected, and recognized. Thanks so much for a job well done and for treating your patients as people, not simply a paycheck.

Thank you for taking patience with me and my hard of hearing problem. I also like your manner of "doctor to patient" attitude. I appreciate all you did and your patience with me. I know it's hard to talk to a person 88 years old and particularly nearly deaf but both me and my daughter appreciate your patience and service. If I have a problem, I'll see you and know it will be taken care of.

My contact with your office with questions about the procedure was greeted with full explanations and a courteous spirit.  Warmth without professionalism leaves one uncertain; professionalism without warmth leaves one uncomfortable. Gladly, you and your staff combined both warmth and professionalism.
